Paul Veilleux, age 64, of Garland, Texas went to be with the Lord on January 26, 2011. He was born August 11, 1946 in Albany, New York. As a young man Paul served in the United States Navy from 1965-69 where he was a Radar Equipment Forman. He later received an Associates Degree in Applied Science from DeVry University. Paul enjoyed photography and ran a studio until he lost his eyesight. He then became active with the American Council of the Blind and has served in various capacities including President of the Dallas Area Council. Paul was always encouraging, especially to those facing great challenges. He loved music and often played the piano. He was kind hearted and enjoyed playing Santa for friends and family.
GUEST SPEAKER JAC ALDER is the Executive Producer-Director of Theatre Three in Dallas which he co-founded with his late wife, Norma Young. The organization is now celebrating its 50thAnniversary Season producing a professional twelve-show season of musicals, dramas and comedies. Trained as an architect, Alder did his military service as the liaison officer between the French customs authority and the Army and Air Force postal systems. Following that, he moved to Dallas and found work as an architect while following his favorite recreation of theatre. Ms. Young was a native Dallasite and veteran actress-director at the Alley Theatre in Houston who had returned to Dallas to care for an ailing mother. They met and together Young and Alder started Theatre Three in 1961 and subsequently married. Since then Alder has, served as a playwright, composer and arranger, director, set designer and actor. He taught for seven ears at University of Texas at Arlington, has taught master classes at numerous other colleges and universities, and served on the Advisory Board of Dallas’ Magnet Arts High School for 25 years. He has narrated dozens of children’s performances of the Dallas Opera and Dallas Symphony. He has been an advisor to the City of Dallas on the design and operation of the soon-to-be operational City Performance Hall in the Arts District.
